Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will oversee and coordinate various aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong project management capabilities, technical expertise in civil engineering and construction management software, and excellent communication skills. The Construction Project Engineer will serve as a key point of contact between clients, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless project execution from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software to ensure timely delivery of construction phases.
Prepare and review construction plans, specifications, and estimates utilizing tools such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and civil engineering project management software.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to align project objectives and resolve issues promptly.
Monitor project progress through site visits and regular meetings; adjust schedules and resources as needed to address delays or unforeseen challenges.
Manage project budgets by tracking costs using cost management software; perform Excel data analysis for accurate forecasting and reporting.
Oversee contract administration including reviewing contracts, change orders, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
Facilitate communication across all stakeholders to ensure clarity on project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols on-site; conduct inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, including progress reports, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
Skills
Proficiency in construction management software such as Primavera P6, Primavera P3, HeavyBid, ProCore, Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and cost management practices.
Experience with construction scheduling software including MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools.
Solid understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, and industry standards.
Excellent project management skills with proven experience in civil engineering or heavy construction projects.
Ability to analyze data effectively using Excel for reporting and decision-making purposes.
Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations.
Effective communication skills for coordinating between teams and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices in project planning and execution.
