Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer / Fit Technician to manage garment fit, construction, and quality from proto through production. This role works closely with Design, Production, and overseas factories to ensure all styles meet fit standards, specs, and retailer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fit sessions (live and/or virtual) and provide clear, detailed fit comments
Create, update, and maintain tech packs, spec sheets, and measurement charts
Review proto, fit, salesman, and pre-production samples
Communicate fit corrections and construction details to overseas factories
Ensure consistency across missy, petite, and plus sizing when applicable
Review patterns, grading, and construction for accuracy
Partner with Production to approve samples for bulk
Ensure styles meet retailer guidelines and quality standards
Qualifications
3+ years experience as a Technical Designer or Fit Technician in women’s apparel
Strong understanding of woven and knit garments
Excellent knowledge of garment construction, grading, and fit
Experience working with overseas factories
Ability to clearly communicate fit feedback (written + visual)
Proficient in Excel and tech pack systems (PLM experience a plus)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
Preferred Experience
Private label or major retailer experience
Multi-size scale experience (Missy / Petite / Plus)
Familiarity with retailer compliance and testing requirements
