Silverstar Express, Inc. is a Korean freight forwarder that has been successfully operating a direct warehouse and international freight forwarding business in Rancho Dominguez, near LA, for over 30 years. With decades of experience and a rich history, we have established ourselves as a trusted leader in the industry.
Position:
We are currently seeking an entry-level employee to join our LA headquarters.
Openings:
- Import Division: 0 positions
Duties:
• Documentation Management:
• Prepare and review import documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Ensure all documents comply with import regulations and company policies.
• Customs Compliance:
• Ensure shipments comply with all applicable customs laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and agents to facilitate the smooth clearance of goods through customs.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to track and coordinate the movement of goods.
• Resolve any issues or delays in the import process.
• Data Entry and Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and shipments.
• Enter shipment data into the company’s logistics software or database.
• Cost Management:
• Monitor and manage import costs, including duties, taxes, and shipping fees.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to optimize costs.
• Logistics and Transportation:
• Arrange for the transportation and storage of imported goods.
• Coordinate with warehouses and distribution centers to ensure timely delivery.
• Regulatory Updates:
• Stay informed about changes in import regulations and policies.
• Update company procedures and practices to comply with new regulations.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify and resolve any issues related to import operations, such as shipment delays, lost goods, or compliance problems.
• Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate reports on import activities and performance metrics.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in the import process.
• Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding import shipments.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering goods on time and in good condition.
Requirements:
- Experience in the field preferred (entry-level candidates are welcome)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Korean and English
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
