ABOUT
Hollywood Body Jewelry( https://www.hollywoodbodyjewelry.com ) is a leading wholesale distributor of body jewelry across the United States and internationally.
THE ROLE
Design our internal CRM, Storefront.
Screens are dense: a single page can hold a header, sidebar, tabs, a data table, a detail panel, and a modal, each with its own layout. Organizing that is the core of the job.
First designer on the product. Next project after the CRM is a customer-facing e-commerce storefront.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design the application layout system: page structure, grids, spacing, nested regions
- Establish visual hierarchy on dense screens
- Theme our existing component library and design the custom components alongside it (buttons and their variants and states, badges, toasts, tooltips, empty and loading states)
- Set and maintain the type scale, color system, spacing rhythm, and icon set
- Design data-heavy interfaces: many-column tables, sticky headers, inline editing, bulk actions, filtering
- Map task flows and remove unnecessary steps
- Later: visual direction for the e-commerce storefront
REQUIREMENTS
Design ability is the deciding factor.
- Strong portfolio of application interfaces with clear command of layout and visual detail
- Composition: grids, alignment, optical spacing, hierarchy, density
- Typography and color in an interface context
- Component-level precision (consistent states, optical alignment, icon and text pairing)
- UX judgment for complex tools: information architecture, task flows, step reduction
- Ability to work with a third-party UI component library: theming it to match our product, knowing what can be restyled and what can't, and designing to what the components can actually do
- [3]+ years on web applications, not marketing sites
PREFERRED
- Solid CSS, enough to take your own design to production
- [React] or experience with an enterprise widget library
- Accessibility: keyboard navigation, focus states, contrast
- E-commerce UI: catalog, product pages, cart, checkout
