Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction management expertise, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations and technical drawings. This role involves managing teams, ensuring project schedules are met, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. The Construction Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site leader, facilitating communication between project stakeholders and ensuring seamless project execution from start to finish.
Duties
Lead and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow and safety compliance
Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints to guide project execution
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 or other construction management software
Coordinate construction activities to meet project timelines while managing resources effectively
Monitor work progress, conduct quality control inspections, and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards
Manage project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
Enforce federal construction safety regulations (OSHA) and ensure all team members follow safety protocols
Review contracts, change orders, and manage contractual obligations with clients and subcontractors
Conduct regular site meetings to communicate progress, address issues, and coordinate upcoming activities
Oversee the review of construction drawings and technical documents for accuracy before implementation
Utilize tools such as HeavyBid for estimating and managing project financials; interpret technical drawings for accurate execution
Manage project documentation including daily reports, safety records, inspection logs, and other essential records
Skills
Extensive experience in construction management with a proven track record supervising large-scale projects
Proficiency in construction management software including ProCore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other industry-standard tools
Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA) and federal construction standards
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documents
Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
Effective crew management skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong managerial communication skills for coordinating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
Knowledge of construction regulations related to commercial projects including quality control procedures
Experience with pipeline or heavy civil projects is a plus; familiarity with managing large-scale infrastructure projects preferred
Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality assurance
Skilled in supervising site operations while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
