4. Job description
1)Job Summary
A growing restaurant chain seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Manager to lead our financial operations and payroll processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accurate management of accounting functions, ensure timely and compliant payroll processing, and maintain seamless integration across various financial software systems. Your expertise will drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within our finance team, supporting our organization’s mission to deliver exceptional services while fostering a positive work environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical accounting skills, payroll management experience, and leadership abilities in a fast-paced setting.
2)Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as QuickBooks, Workday, and ADP ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, expense coding, and vendor payments using accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft
• Perform general ledger accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities with precision
• Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, benefits administration, tax filings, and employee data within HRIS platforms
• Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities, ensuring the integrity of financial reports
• Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy in debits & credits and support audit readiness
• Collaborate with human resources to administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with governmental regulations
• Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax obligations, and financial status for senior management review
• Support internal controls by implementing best practices in bookkeeping and double-entry bookkeeping procedures
3)Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll and accounting roles.
• Proven experience managing payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos with a strong understanding of payroll management processes
• Extensive knowledge of corporate accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial analysis
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft or Ceridian; familiarity with financial software integrations is a plus
• Strong understanding of HRIS systems for benefits administration and employee data management
• Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills; experience with accounts payable/receivable is essential
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments including human resources and finance teams
• Bilingual; Korean/English
