Compensation: $19.00 – $20.00 / hour (Depending on experience)
Potential for Full-Time Conversion: Yes (Based on performance and business needs)
About the Role
SBS International, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of SBS, one of South Korea’s leading national broadcasters and media powerhouses. Located in Los Angeles, we specialize in the distribution and global expansion of premium Korean content across the Americas. Our core business encompasses finished content licensing to TV networks, OTT/streaming platforms, and non-theatrical distribution channels.
We are seeking a passionate, bilingual (Korean/English), and multi-talented Creative Development & Distribution Intern for a 6-month journey. This Temp-to-Perm opportunity is designed for a versatile professional who can effectively bridge K-Content with global audiences while managing hands-on creative execution and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finished Sales & Distribution Support (Primary): Actively assist in the licensing and sales of finished K-Content targeting major networks, streaming platforms, and specialized media buyers across the U.S. and Latin America. Support buyer communications, sales pipeline tracking, and client relationship management.
2. Content Material Delivery & Servicing: Coordinate end-to-end content fulfillment processes following deal closures, including digital master file delivery, metadata preparation, caption/subtitle alignment, quality control (QC), and adherence to platform-specific technical specifications.
3. Creative Pitching & Development Support: Translate the core essence and unique DNA of Korean programs into high-concept pitches, loglines, and adaptation angles tailored for the U.S. and LATAM markets. Articulate these ideas in the creative language of the entertainment industry to establish immediate rapport with buyers.
4. Creative Asset Production: Edit high-impact promotional video clips (sizzle reels, trailers) and design visually compelling pitch decks (Keynote, PowerPoint, or Photoshop) for content sales buyer presentations.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Industry Aptitude: Keen interest in both Korean and U.S. TV/film content, with a basic knowledge of—or strong eagerness to learn about—content licensing and distribution workflows.
2. Language Proficiency: Professional fluency (or Bilingual proficiency) in both written and spoken English and Korean (essential for business negotiations and script/content analysis).
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma, or Keynote). Familiarity with video codecs, media delivery formats, and digital file management is highly preferred.
4. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Studies, Creative Producing, Entertainment Business, or a related field required.
5. Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
6. Portfolio Required: A portfolio link showcasing video editing and graphic/pitch deck design samples is mandatory for consideration.
7. Cover Letter Required: A brief, self-authored cover letter highlighting your specific background and motivation.
Benefits & Culture
1. Health Benefits: Medical coverage provided (eligible after 90 days of continuous employment).
2. Parking Provided: On-site parking provided
3. Hands-on Experience: Practical exposure across the entire global K-Content distribution lifecycle (pitching, sales, creative editing, and technical delivery).
4. Labor Compliance: Fully compliant with LA City labor standards
