My name is Nicholas Kim and I am a recent music graduate from UCLA with a 4.0 GPA. I am a professional clarinetist who plays with top level orchestras like the Los Angeles Philharmonic and I have a studio of 6 students already. I have had multiple students get into the California All-State Ensembles and win 1st place in national competitions. If you have a child wanting to learn clarinet for school or you are looking for someone to take them to the next level, I will be able to take them to the next level in their playing!
I mainly teach:
• Private clarinet lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students of any age
• Personalized instruction based on each student’s level, goals, and learning style
• Clarinet fundamentals: tone production, embouchure, articulation, breathing, and technique
• Scale, fingering, rhythm, and sight-reading development
• Solo, ensemble, and orchestral repertoire coaching
• California All-State and regional honor ensemble audition preparation
I also help teach:
• Music theory lessons for beginners through advanced students
• Learn note reading, rhythm, scales, key signatures, intervals, chords, and harmony
• Ear training and musicianship development
