[The 30th Epipodo Arts & Literature Award Call for Entries]

Literary Award: $500 (or $300 if no Grand Prize is awarded)
Art Award: $500 (or $300 if no Grand Prize is awarded)

Epipodo Art & Literature aims to expand the horizon of the missional Gospel by fostering broad exchange and nurturing Christian writers. The Epipodo Art & Literature Awards transcend regional boundaries around the world and accept submissions simultaneously in both Korean and English, with the goal of developing Epipodo into a globally recognized Christian arts and literary award. Epipodo is a formally authorized nonprofit arts organization, officially recognized by the State of California and the United States federal government.

                                1. Categories

Epipodo Literature Award
Open to established and formally recognized writers with a record of published works (in literary journals, newspapers, etc.) or at least two published books. For poetry submissions, at least two works must be translated into English. Applicants must also submit a complete list of previously published works along with detailed information on their literary activities.

Epipodo Photography & Fine Arts Award
Open to both established and emerging artists. Applicants must submit photographs (or film) of their works, along with supporting materials such as pamphlets or catalogs, records of solo and group exhibitions (including international exhibitions), and any media coverage or documentation of artistic activities.

Epipodo New Writer Award (Literature)
* Poetry (including children’s poetry): Minimum of 5 pieces (no restriction on theme or length)
* Essay: Minimum of 3 pieces; each within 2 pages (letter size, double-spaced, font size 11)
* Short Story: Within 20 pages (letter size, double-spaced, font size 11)
* Other Genres: Drama, literary criticism, children’s literature, and all other genres (double-spaced, font size 11)

Epipodo Translation Award
Applicants must submit at least 5 poems translated either from Korean into English or from English into Korean. Selection of works is open.

Epipodo Music Award
Open to both established and emerging artists in songwriting and composition. Submissions must be made in the form of tape, CD, or musical score.

Epipodo Youth Literature Award (English)
Open to students currently enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school. All submissions must be written in English and may be in any literary genre.

Epipodo Publishing & Authorship Award
This prestigious award is presented to works that have made a meaningful contribution to Christian history. It is awarded jointly to the publisher and the author.

                    3. Announcement of Winners
 
The winners will be announced in June 2026 simultaneously through the Epipodo website, social media platforms, Epipodo postcard publications, as well as various media outlets and broadcasts.

                        4. Submission Guidelines

❙ All submissions must clearly indicate the relevant category and include the applicant’s contact information (address and phone number). If applicable, a record of previous publications or artistic activities must be provided. Applicants for the New Writer Award are also encouraged to submit English translations of their works when possible.

❙ Submitted works will not be returned. The copyright of all winning entries will belong to this association, and winners will be registered as members of the Epipodo Artists Art and Literature. Submissions must not have received awards elsewhere. All winning works will be published in book form in both English and Korean in the United States and Korea.

❙ Submissions are open to both established and emerging artists from around the world, including but not limited to the United States, Canada, China, Russia, Africa, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Paraguay, and Bangladesh—essentially all regions where the Epipodo Postcard is distributed. Both Korean-speaking writers and international authors are welcome to apply.

❙ The awards ceremony will be held in both the United States and Korea. Winners from countries other than the United States are expected to cooperate in attending the ceremony and participating in literary tours.

❙ Manuscripts may be submitted by post; however, submission via email is strongly preferred. All manuscripts must be in Word format. PDF files will not be accepted.
