[Job Overview]
The Sales Assistant Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in driving sales growth, managing strategic accounts, and spearheading initiatives to expand CJ Freshway America’s footprint in the U.S. food wholesale and food service sectors. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position requires not only a strong grasp of market dynamics and food industry trends, but also leadership capabilities to guide and mentor junior sales team members.

The successful Sales Assistant Manager will bridge the gap between strategic planning and operational execution – identifying new business opportunities, fostering long-term partnerships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (including HQ in Korea) to achieve aggressive profitability goals through data-driven strategies.

[Key Responsibilities]
· Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives and long-term growth plans
· Identify and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, food service, and retail channels
· Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, ensuring premium levels of customer satisfaction and retention
· Supervise and support junior sales team members, providing necessary training, mentorship, and performance guidance
· Collaborate with internal departments (logistics, purchasing, finance) and HQ Korea to ensure seamless operational execution
· Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and product offerings to ensure alignment with market trends and customer needs
· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to provide actionable insights for sales strategy refinement
· Drive upselling and cross-selling initiatives to maximize average order value and account penetration
· Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections and financial health
· Oversee the preparation and accuracy of reports, price lists, and essential sales documentation
· Ensure timely procurement by monitoring inventory levels and executing strategic purchase orders
· Act as the primary liaison between customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve complex issues efficiently
· Provide regular and ad hoc reports to HQ Korea, including detailed sales performance analysis and demand forecasts
· Represent the company at trade shows, business development events, and client meetings as needed
· Perform other duties related to sales and purchasing, as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager-level role
· Industry Knowledge: Strong background in food distribution or the wholesale industry preferred
· Track Record: Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed ambitious sales targets
· Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
· Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
· Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Language: Professional fluency in English required; intermediate proficiency (or higher) in Korean is strongly preferred
· Global Mindset: Experience working with international teams or global headquarters (specifically Korea-Based) is a plus.

· Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 30%
· License: A valid driver’s license is required

The anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Los Angeles is $77K to $82K. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be subject to several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of the candidate’s experience within the job; type and length of experience within the specific industry; educational background; and the location of employment. This salary range may not reflect the pay scale for employees who work in other states.
