Job Position: Logistics Coordinator
Key Responsibilities: Import/Export
• Comprehensive Shipment Oversight: Manage end-to-end ocean operations, including carrier bookings and the preparation of critical shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.
• Cargo Tracking & Reporting: Oversee inbound shipment movements, delivering timely ETA updates and detailed status reports to customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure full visibility.
• Trade Compliance & Documentation: Process required U.S. Customs (CBP) entries and ISF filings while maintaining compliance with export regulations, including AES submissions, Incoterms application, and commodity restrictions.
• Operational Coordination: Collaborate closely with customs brokers, warehouse operators, and carriers to facilitate efficient customs clearance and on-time final delivery.
• Domestic Transportation Management: Coordinate drayage services, container returns, and inland transportation by liaising with steamship lines, local agents, and trucking providers.
• Customer Service & Financial Processing: Maintain strong client relationships by resolving operational issues, responding to inquiries, and ensuring accurate invoice preparation and billing.
Security & Risk Control Responsibilities
• Carrier / Vendor Vetting & Compliance Control
o Verify carrier and transportation vendor credentials (MC/DOT authority, insurance coverage, safety rating, and operating status) prior to load tendering.
o Maintain an approved carrier/vendor master database and perform periodic compliance reviews.
• Anti-Spoofing & Fraud Prevention Coordination
o Implement dispatch verification and call-back procedures to confirm carrier identity using independent contact sources.
o Support warehouse pickup security processes including dispatch reference validation, equipment matching, and pickup authorization control (PIN / reference code verification).
• Cargo Security & Incident Support
o Assist in cargo theft prevention initiatives by coordinating shipment security verification steps with warehouse and transportation partners.
o Support investigation and claims documentation for transportation security incidents, including carrier verification records and dispatch confirmation logs.
Qualifications
• Professional Experience: 0–2 years of experience in freight forwarding or supply chain operations, including internships or relevant academic project exposure.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
Preferred Skills
• Understanding of carrier compliance verification (MC/DOT/insurance review).
• Basic knowledge of transportation fraud / double brokering risks.
• Strong attention to detail in document validation and shipment security procedures.
