Job Overview
We are a textile importer/distributor in Vernon, CA seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse/Shipping Manager to oversee our shipping/receiving operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient shipping/receiving processes, and maintaining high standards of inventory control. This role is crucial in supporting our distribution center's goals and enhancing logistics operations.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and lead the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate processing of outgoing/incoming shipments.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce shipping errors.
• Manage the warehouse management system to track inventory levels and shipping activities.
• Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate inventory management practices, including regular audits and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate logistics and resolve any shipping-related issues.
• Train and develop team members on best practices in shipping, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
Skills
• Proven experience in team management within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems for effective tracking of shipments and inventory.
• Experience in shipping receiving processes, including documentation and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in inventory management techniques to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Understanding of ERP systems is a plus for managing data related to shipping operations.
