DENIM DESIGNER
Responsibilities:
• Actively participates in the design of new denim styles from inception until finish
• Use trend intelligence and possess a thorough understanding of current and historical business to design and execute desired vision
• Assist in creating color ways and color separations
• Ensure corporate design calendar deadlines are met
• Maintain a strong knowledge of market trends and competition
• Lead the research and development of seasonal trends
• Develop and maintain good relationships with overseas vendor
• Use computer-aided design programs (CAD, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.) to create designs
• Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment
• Create basic pieces based on existing trends and mainstream designs
• Maintain design and print information in an organized electronic catalogue for easy access and reference
• Meet with fabric vendors for fabric selection
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Fashion or Textile Design
• Must have 3+ years of Fashion experience (denim design experience preferred)
• MAC proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office (Excel)
• Knowledge of other textile software programs a plus
• Must be able to build relationships through effective communication with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
• Ability to analyze work load and plan accordingly
• Exceptional follow-up skills
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required
• Ability to travel to trade shows, as necessary
Salary: 75-95k Depending on Experience
Fit Technician / Technical Designer
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams to illustrate and develop technical designs
- Utilize CAD software for creating detailed technical drawings
- Oversee garment construction processes and provide technical guidance
- Work with sewing machines to create prototypes and samples
- Use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite for design visualization
- Ensure designs meet quality standards and specifications
- Assist in fashion styling and trend research
- Contribute to the overall success of the design team
Qualifications:
- Experience in Fashion Design
- Proficiency in CAD software for technical design purposes
- Experience with garment construction and sewing machines
- Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of fashion design principles and trends
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience with Women's Denim
- Familiarity with pattern making and draping techniques
Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Depending on Experience
Designer Assistant
DUTIES
· Strong CAD work for style development and denim design
· Prepare varied CAD detail and assembly drawings from sketches, mark-up prints and other reference materials under the direction of the Designers
· Prepare CAD drawings to verify adequate fit and function
· Assist Designers with project scheduling
· Administrative and office duties that are needed by Designers
· Revise artwork as requested by Designers via CAD
· Develop and maintain necessary records, spreadsheets and files for efficient operations
· Maintain and organize storage system for samples by sorting and storing effectively
· Inspect spec measurement, lab dips/trims, embroideries, colors, artwork, fit samples and etc.
· Chase and send detailed comments for all imports using measurements and technical & spec terminologies
· Follow up with vendors after fitting to ensure on the time import delivery
· Track import timeline from vendors to fulfill approval deadline
REQUIREMENTS
· Associates Degree (or equivalent) with 1-2 years of administrative experience, experience in Fashion industry preferred
· 1-2 years of basic graphic design
· Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work well with tight deadlines
· Able to navigate CAD with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with ease
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
· Basic knowledge of garment construction
· Attention to details and accuracy in performance
· Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
· Most be proactive and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines
· Able to effectively communicate with supervisors, vendor, and co-workers
· General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures
· Ability to write professional e-mail correspondence
