지난 주말 아침 타운에 훈훈한 행사가 열렸다. 올해로 10회를 맞이하는 불우이웃을 돕기 위한 사랑나누기 마라톤 행사에 한미무용연합 진발레스쿨은
시상식 전 축하무대공연을 하였다. 그동안 학생들은 한 번도 빠짐없이 사랑의 마라톤행사에 참여하여 무용공연으로
나눔을 함께하며 봉사하고 이웃사랑을 실천하였다. 리베르 탱고발레, 키즈반
단원들의 스프링왈츠 발레, KDC 한국무용팀의 난타, 레인보우유치원
학생들과 함께하는 독도는 우리 땅 공연을 선보였다. 무용공연은 행사장에서의 경직되고 딱딱한 분위기를 즐겁고
신나게 바꿀 수 있어 그날의 행사에 하이라이트이기도 하다.
자원봉사공연이 있는 날이면 이른 아침부터 준비하여야 한다.
3분이면 하나의 춤이 무대에서 끝나지만, 단 3분을 위하여 수많은 준비와 연습이 필요하다. 화장과 머리분장, 무대의상과 난타 북, 팜팜등 소도구를 챙길 것이 너무나도 많아 혼자서는 들지도 못하는 경우가
많지만, 단원들이 모두 협력하여 함께 움직인다. 공연을 위하여 새벽부터
나와 아이들은 화장하고. 준비를 한다.
행사 준비로 너무나 바빠서 식사도 제대로 못 챙기고 온 학생들도
많지만, 학부모님들은 음식을 준비해서 꼼꼼히 챙겨준다. 우리 모두 소풍
가는 즐거운 기분으로 단원들은 행사장에 도착하였다.
열심히 달리고 골인점에 모인 모든 사람들은 최선을 다하며 발레를
하는 6살 아이들에게 박수를 치면서 환호를 보내고 두 손을 꼭 잡아 주면서 기뻐하고 즐거워했다.
우리 모두는 흐뭇한 미소가 입가에서 떠나지 않았으며 진정한 보람을 느꼈다. 마라톤
행사는 한인뿐만 아니라 타인종 모두 함께 달리면서, 이웃사랑의 참 정신을 배우고 나눔의 기쁨을 알게 해주는
뜻깊고 보람된 행사였다.
우리 주위에는 어렵고 힘들고, 소외되어 도움의 손길이 필요한 사람들이 많이 있다. 그러나 쉽게 그 사람들에게 우리는 다가서지
못하고 있다. 봉사의 마음은 있지만 무엇을 도와야 하는지 잘 모르는 경우도 있고, 다가가는 방법을 몰라서 망설이거나 하지 못하는 사람들이 분명히 있을 것이다. 봉사란 작은 것에서부터
시작할 수 있다. 자신이 가지고 있는 자질과 능력을 조건 없이 필요로 하는 사람에게 나누어 주면서 사랑을
실천하고 행복을 느낄 수 있을 때 진정한 봉사라고 할 수 있다.
한미무용연합 진발레스쿨의 학생들은 춤을 추며 사랑의 나눔을
실천하는 작은 천사들이다. 그동안 학생들이 “춤추며 사랑의 봉사”를 379회 이상 할 수 있었던 것은 함께 하여준 단원들이 있었기에 가능하였다. 봉사를 통하여 더 많은
것을 배운다는 단원들은 항상 누군가를 위하여 봉사할 수 있다는 것에 감사를 한다. 사랑의 마라톤 행사는 작은
것 하나라도 소홀히 여기지 않고, 모든 것에 감사하고 진정한 봉사의 기쁨이 무엇인지를 느끼게 해 준 뜻깊은
행사로 사랑을 전달한 해피빌리지에 감사를 드린다.
The 'Love Sharing
Marathon' that Introduced the Joy of Volunteering"
Last weekend, a meaningful event took place in
LA's Korean Town, the 10th annual "Love Sharing Marathon." This
year's event, sponsored by the California government, focused on the theme of
"Stopping Hatred and Sharing Love in the Community."
At this significant event, the KOA Dance Federation
& Jean Ballet School performed a congratulatory dance before the award
ceremony. Over the years, students from the Jean Ballet School have
participated in the Love Sharing Marathon, practicing neighborly love through
sharing and volunteering. On this day, students showcased performances
including the "Dokdo Is Our Land" with students from the Liber Tango
Ballet, kids from the spring waltz ballet, KDC Korean Culture Dance Team's
Nanta, and Rainbow Kindergarten. The dance performances added joy and
excitement to the event atmosphere.
Days with volunteer performances require early
preparations. While a performance on stage may last only three minutes, it
requires extensive preparation and practice. On this day, there were many items
to prepare, such as makeup, hair styling, stage costumes, Nanta drums, and
pom-poms, but with the help of the students, everything was successfully
completed. The students had been preparing since early morning. Many of them
couldn't even have a proper breakfast, so the food carefully prepared by
parents was a great help. The students arrived at the event venue with a
cheerful mood, as if they were going on a picnic.
As marathon participants ran diligently
towards the finish line, they cheered and celebrated the ballet performances by
the young students, which was a moment of great joy and fulfillment for
everyone. The Love Sharing Marathon event was not only for the Korean community
but also for people from various backgrounds, promoting the true spirit of
neighborly love and introducing the joy of sharing.
There are many people around us who need a
helping hand. However, it's not always easy to approach them, even if we have
the intention to help. Some may have the desire to volunteer but may not know
where to start or how to go about it.
Volunteering can start with small gestures. I
believe that true volunteering is about sharing one's talents and abilities
unconditionally with those in need while experiencing happiness. The students
from the KOA Dance Federation & Jean Ballet School are little angels who
practice sharing love through dance. The fact that we were able to engage in
"Love through Dance Volunteering" more than 379 times was made
possible by the dedication of our members.
Our students are grateful for the opportunity
to learn and grow through volunteering for others. The Love Sharing Marathon
event taught us not to overlook even the smallest acts of kindness and to
appreciate everything, bringing us the true joy of volunteering. We extend our
gratitude to Happy Village, a non-profit organization under the Chosun Ilbo,
which organized the event.
