십 년이면 강산도 변한다고 하던데 지난 20년간 한결같이 예술을 사랑하고 함께 해온 LA 문화 예술인들의 모임이 있다. 외길인생이라고 하였던가? 국악, 무용, 미술, 건축, 사진, 문인, 연극, 영화, 연예, 음악등 각자의 다른 분야에서 예술활동을 하고 있으나 자신의 예술분야에 평생을 바친 사람들이 함께 모여 예술을 통해 세상과 소통한다. 미주 예총은 김준배 회장을 중심으로 예술의 힘으로 사회를 더욱 아름답고 풍요롭게 만들기 위해 다양한 활동을 진행하고 있다. 미주예총은 예술문화인 상호 간의 친목을 도모하고, 회원의 권익을 옹호하며 미주지역사회의 예술문화 발전에 기여함을 목적으로 창립되었다. 미주예총 창립 20주년을 맞이하여 특별한 자리를 준비하고 있다.
8월 12일 5:00 pm 반즈달 갤러리아에서 이민 120주년, 한미동맹 70주년, 78주년 광복절을 기념하는 뜻깊은 행사를 겸하고 있으며, 전문 예술가들이 하나가 되어 우리의 일상과 삶을 이야기하며 다양한 퍼포먼스를 펼친다. 이번 행사를 통해, 예술로 광복절의 의미를 되새기고 2세 청소년들에게 나라의 중요성과 우리의 정체성을 자연스럽게 배우게 될 것이다.
한미무용연합 진발레스쿨은 창립 때부터 지난 20년간 미주예총과 함께 하면서 회장님의 뜻을 같이하였고 한인 커뮤니티를 위해 봉사하였다. 또한, 그런 취지를 알기 때문에 이번에도 25여 명의 단원들이 참가하고 발레, 리베르탱고, KCD 팀의 창작무용 “ 바람 ”등 다양한 퍼포먼스를 준비하였다.
광복절 기념 예술제를 시작으로 “찾아가는 예술, 함께하는 문화”로 만들 것이며 우리 한인 2세 아이들에게 광복절의 의미를 예술을 통해 알리고 잠재된 나라 사랑, 예술사랑의 불씨를 지펴줄 수 있을 것이다. 미주예총 20주년 기념 예술제에 여러분을 초대한다.

For ten years, they say even rivers and mountains change. However, over the past 20 years, there has been a consistent gathering of LA cultural and artistic individuals who share a love for art. Some may call it a life of wandering. While they engage in artistic activities in various fields such as traditional music, dance, visual arts, architecture, photography, literature, theater, film, entertainment, and music, they come together to communicate with the world through art. The KFACO(미주예총) under the leadership of Chairman Kim Jun-bae is actively involved in diverse activities to make society more beautiful and abundant through the power of art. It was founded with the purpose of promoting friendship among artists, advocating for the rights of members, and contributing to the development of arts and culture in the Korean-American community. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Korean-American Arts Federation is preparing a special event.
On August 12th, at 5:00 pm, at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre, they are organizing a meaningful event commemorating the 120th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States, the 70th anniversary of the US-Korea alliance, and the 78th anniversary of Korean Independence Day. Professional artists will come together to share stories of our daily lives through various performances. Through this event, they hope to reflect on the significance of Independence Day through art and naturally teach the importance of our country and identity to the younger generation.
The KOA Jean Ballet School (한미무용연합 진발레스쿨) has been sharing the same vision as the Federation for the past 20 years and has been serving the Korean community. With this understanding, about 25 members will participate in the event, presenting various performances including ballet, libertango, and the original dance piece “Wind” by the KCD team.
Starting with the commemorative art festival for Independence Day, the event aims to become “art that reaches out, culture we share,” and through art, they hope to teach the meaning of Independence Day to the second-generation Korean-American children and ignite the sparks of patriotism and love for the arts. You are invited to the 20th-anniversary celebration art festival of the KFACO.
