Job Description:
The Donor Room Registered Nurse coordinates and manages nursing care for the blood and apheresis donor/patient and maintains knowledge and skill in donor and apheresis procedures. The nurse is a member of the Blood Bank team and communicates with physicians, nurses, family members and donor/patients in relation to donor room and therapeutic activities.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in any field with an AA degree in Nursing; bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. 1 yr. RN experience, Donor room, intensive care or dialysis unit preferred.
License, Registration or Certification Required: California Registered Nurse License
Skills Required: Starting IV's, fluid balance and technical equipment. Functions calmly, safely and capably in emergency donor room situations.
