This unique opportunity is part of the Mechanical Systems Engineering, Fabrication and Test Division which engages in research, technology development, and the creation of advanced mechanical, thermal, propulsion, and electronic packaging systems with expertise that spans the full breath of mechanical disciplines and is applied from architectural concept development through operations.
As the Tool Crib Attendant you will be working for JPL's Mechanical Fabrication and Test Section which maintains technical support facilities and resources that provide the services required to fabricate, assemble, and test electro-mechanical developmental and flight hardware. This Section develops and matures equipment and technologies, which enable and enhance our fabrication and environmental test capability for current and future missions.
Responsible for handling the day to day operations of the tool crib to include vending machines and remstar.
Ordering, receiving, stocking of consumable and durable goods used in the Machine shop and Sheet metal group.
Electronically monitor calibration cycles using CribMaster software to assure precision tools are in calibration.
Cycle counts to maintain accuracy of stock and prevent stockouts.
Perform adhoc assignments as necessary.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a High School diploma with 3 years of general work experience; related required training.
Must have moderate understanding, technical expertise or experience in the following areas: strong overall knowledge of hand tools and their functions; knowledge of precision measuring tools to include micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, etc.
Strong computer skills, ability to create and customize programs
Stong electronic inventory tracking system skills.
Strong organizational skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook.
