Looking for an experienced Software QA professional with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. This position is for a self-starter with strong organizational and computer science skills. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to formulate test strategies and plans for complex and challenging projects with limited direction.

As a member of the Entertainment Data Services (EDS) QA Team, you will be responsible for continuing the long standing tradition of ensuring that the applications and services we develop for our customers meet the highest standards possible. We are the conscience of our commitment to quality by ensuring the services and applications are rigorously tested to not only meet the functionality it was designed to deliverable but also identify flaws that may yield in an experience that will be unacceptable to our customers. You will work hand and hand with both development and business analysts to ensure a seamless user experience are delivered.
Responsibilities
• Work with software developers, business analysts, program managers and QA team members to ensure the applications meet technical requirements and customer expectations for the Program Guide Broadcast system.
• Organize and prioritize testing tasks for self and team members as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Work to become technical subject matter expert for our head end broadcast systems, coordinate logic to handle validation between complex code merges, coordinating work for other assigned projects. Team members may be located onshore (US) or offshore.
• Continuously communicate evolving and new QA procedures and information essential to the timely and accurate performance of the team’s responsibilities.
• Minimum 5 years experience in software quality assurance required.
• Hands on experience with UNIX/Linux platforms.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience with relational database concepts and SQL queries required.
• Detail oriented, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills are required.
• Able to work independently with effective time management in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• BA/BS degree. Computer Science is preferred, but not essential. Software QA work experience acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
• Project based proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Ruby, shell script, Java,VB) providing ability to automate test routines.
• Experience with Load, Stress and Performance testing.
• Experience with analysis and support of production/live systems a plus.
• Experience as Tech Lead for small teams. Off shore collaboration a plus.
