올해 고등학교를 졸업하고 동부에 위치한 4년재 대학교에 신입생으로 입학 예정입니다
하이브리도 운영 될 예정이었지만 어제 갑작스럽게 100% 온라인으로 운영하겠다는 소식을 접했습니다.
현재 저는 고등학교때 이슈받은 F1 비자는 2021년 8월까지 유효합니다.
제 질문은, 학교에서는 보내온 내용에 따르면, 가을학기에 100% 온라인으로 진행되기 때문에 new incoming international 학생은 비자 신청이 안되므로 모국에서 공부를 진행하라고 합니다.
단, continuing international 학생은 비자 유지가 가능하기 때문에 미국에 입국이 가능해 체류가 가능하다고 합니다.
제 기준에서는 아직 F1비자가 살아 있으니 저는 continuing 학생으로 볼 수 있는거 아닌지요?
또는, 제가 신입생이라 new incoming international 학생으로도 보이구요.

Continuing international undergraduate students:
If you are enrolled full-time in the fall, you may maintain your F-1/J-1 status and continue your program fully online, whether you're in the United States or abroad. If you are abroad, you are eligible to enter the U.S. or to apply for a new visa if needed when you wish to return to the United States.
New incoming international undergraduate students who are abroad:
Because all undergraduate programs at Columbia will be 100% online this Fall, you are not eligible to apply for an F-1 student visa for Fall 2020. You may enroll and study online while abroad.
