Import Designer 

• +5 or more years of experience

• Present quarterly forecasts on latest fashion trends

• Create detailed design tech packs 

• Oversee end to end lifecycle of designs, fit, and cost management

• Organize fabric swatches, new designs, and vendor orders 

• Communicate effectively with overseas vendors & collaborate with internal production & sales

• Requires travel internationally

• Adobe Illustrator Preferred 

• Bilingual (English/Korean) Verbal and writing proficiency required

Full Job Description

• Manage and direct production workflow with overseas/import vendor—monitor and follow-up on all production processing. Communicate in Korean and English with vendors to ensure timely and quality goods, including but not limited to:

• Knowledge of textile, fabrics, fiber garment, clothing, design, supply chain, shipping logistics, import, export, wholesale, fashion merchandising, and Product Development is a plus but not a must.

•Must have strong ability to prioritize, organize and direct production with factories. Articulate and implement procedures to streamline processing to effectively meet production timelines.

• Maintenance and Recordkeeping: coordinate, review, and monitor files to ensure updated vendor information including but not limited to: Emails; Shipping documents/Packaging lists; Daily review and Tech Pack Excel Spreadsheet and Recap Log. Ensure all communication/information is included with tech pack files for: Sales, Pre-Production, Fit, and TOP samples. Approve and Distribute finished contracts.

• Work closely with senior designers, along with sales & creative, to ensure all samples are well maintained in a timely fashion.

• Manage sample inventory, tracking product and meeting deadlines.

• Working with manufacturers/vendors to resolve issues during the sample process.

• Provide feedback and continued liaison for required revisions/re-samples with vendors, keeping sales managers & production team updated throughout the process.

• Maintain & update sample tracker (WIP) to keep all sampling organized and follow up with vendors in a timely fashion. Manages workflow, prioritizing consistent follow through with factories on proto and pre-production sampling.

• Set sampling priorities with vendors based on Production Orders and expected deliveries.

• Communicate approval comments and corrections to internal and external channels; trackers, factories/vendors, and partners as applicable.

• Review sample requests and identify any sampling/production concerns and provide possible solutions. Communicate necessary information to respective teams.

• Brainstorm new processes that promote efficiencies with order ingestion.

• Outstanding verbal & written communications skills in Korean & English, and able to liaise internally with various teams such as production/sales/brand mgmt. and externally with manufacturers/vendors/customers.

• Trained eye for the elements of design: ie. color, proportion, and balance as well as aesthetic detail. Pantone color experience is a plus.

• Ability to self-manage/work independently, demonstrable leadership and stress management skills.

• Multitask, highly motivated, positive, and strong work and team ethics. Critical thinking with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize and possess a sense of urgency when appropriate.

• Basic knowledge of license apparel a plus.

Experience:

• Production: 2+ years (Preferred)

• Apparel industry: 2+ years (Preferred)

• N41 ERP: 1 year (Required) 

• Korean-Fluent (Required)

• Slack: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Work Location: One location
