5 Dead In Shooting Spree Of Korean Man In His 40s At Christian University in Oakland, CA

A Korean gunman in his 40s who opened fire at Oikos University, a Christian school
in Oakland, California, Monday morning, killing at least five people and four others were wounded...
 
 
According to Oakland police, the police got a report that the shooting occurred around 10:33 a.m. Monday at the nursing classroom of the Oikos Christian University on the 7850 Edgewater Drive, and right after the report, Police SWAT officers surrounded the school building and also evacuated nearby businesses to arrest the suspect.
 
Police said that after all students were evacuated from the school building, the suspected gunman was taken into custody in the parking lot of the shopping center about 12:20 p.m.

Police said that they had detained a possible suspect and they are investigating a possible motive in the shooting spree but did not give any other details about the detained suspect.
 
But he had been described by police as a Korean man in his 40s with heavy build and wearing khaki clothing according to the local press.

The exact number of victims is unknown but a total of nine people got shot and at least five people were shot dead in the chest or the head.

And four wounded people were transferred to a nearby hospital.
 
Oikos University, which were founded by Korean Pastor Kim about ten years ago, offers
studies in theology, music, nursing and Asian medicine.
 
In an interview with the local press, Pastor Kim said that he heard about 30 gunshots in the building while he was staying in his office.

The Korean Consulate General in San Francisco dispatched the consul to the Oikos University which many of the students are Korean worrying the possible damage of the students.
